Another elliptical trainer with high rating is the Precor EFX 5.17i. Not quiet as affordable as the Spirit XE 350; the price is estimated at $2700. But it is known as the best elliptical trainer and the most durable. The feature that sets it apart from those many other machines is the incline that can be adjusted from 12 to 25 degrees, as well as the lack of a weight-limit. However, the Precor does not offer an upper body workout, which to some might put it at a disadvantage.

Third on our list is the Fitness Quest Eclipse 1100 HR/A, also known as the budget elliptical trainer. This elliptical trainer is not as stable as the more expensive models, but not half bad for a price of only $400. It comes with a one year warranty, two heart rate programs and handgrip heart rate sensors. Not as many options, but more than enough to be effective.

Last but not least to complete our top four in the elliptical machine rating is the Precor EFX 5.33, the club-quality elliptical trainer. This one does have the moving bars that can give you an upper body workout and also has a fixed incline of 20 degrees. However you must choose either the incline or the upper body workout; both at the same time won't work. The price is estimated at $3800.
