Treadmill or Elliptical: Workout TipsIf you have never seen the inside of a gym before, it might be a little overwhelming when you step through the doors. So many machines with no instructions and no guidelines as to what they change about your body. Gyms don't always come with trainers attached either so you are left to flounder on your own and might end up wasting your time on a device that will not help you towards your goal. Should you focus on the weights or on an elliptical workout? Your ultimate goal has a lot to do with what your exercise program should look like. Is it muscles you'd like to develop or do you want to lose weight? Do you want a cardiovascular workout or not? There are no right or wrong answers in this as all of those are equally important for your health. But one device will do the job faster than the other; for example, an elliptical workout is a better cardiovascular routine than a treadmill workout, while running or walking is known to have severe impacts on weight loss. It is possible and almost easy to balance all of the above and create a single, healthy exercise routine that will need few changes from you even after reaching your goal. Both elliptical trainers and treadmills will develop the muscles in your legs and arms. Lifting weights is also an option although not many prefer it. Cycling helps with weight loss and with keeping your heart healthy. The best workout would be one containing treadmill, cycling and elliptical workout in no specific order. Spend at least thrirty minutes on each device and if you can stretch it to an hour do so. It doesn't have to be every day - three or four times a week is more than enough for a vigorous routine. It doesn't have to be boring either, and there's no law that says you can't entertain yourself while exercising. Grab that new book, hit the gym, and spend the rest of the day feeling good about yourself. |
