Reebok Elliptical Machines: They're Popular and Trendy - or Are They? One of the more popular brands of training machines is the Reebok elliptical. But for many people who have bought it, it is disappointing in many respects. New owners of the Reebok elliptical would rave about this exercise equipment as being everything promised in the ads; but after a while, they would express regrets for having bought one. The Reebok elliptical has its pedals at the back, making possible a bicycling motion for your legs. It also has hand grips that you can opt to move so that your arms would synchronize with your legs, and your torso would rotate as you do so. You may also opt to keep it locked stationary and you may just hold on to it as you exercise your legs on the pedal, but doing it this way only exercises your lower limbs and leaves out a workout for your upper body. Either way, the effort in the motion really does raise up your heartbeat and give your legs and torso the needed exercise. The jerky movement of your legs on the pedals is not one of this machine’s liabilities. On the contrary, many of those who have bought and used it claim that the motion is really smooth. Another one of the complaints about some models of this piece of exercise equipment is that the handgrip bars don’t seem to adapt to the different heights of different users of one unit, i.e. there is only one fixed height and this cannot be adjusted. Maybe there is no brand and model of ellipticals that afford this facility of being adjustable, but make sure the bars are of the right height for you before you buy it. For an elliptical training machine to be really comfortable to use, its handgrip bars should be adjustable to the height of the user so that there is no discomfort with reach and motion. Yet another complaint is the noise it generates. Some users complain that as they increase the rpm (revolutions per minute), the whining, whirring noise correspondingly increases. Although the Reebok ellipticals are not that big, their bulk makes them difficult to position in a house where space is an issue. A wise buyer wouldn’t go for popularity. Try and buy a unit you’d feel most comfortable with. Before you buy a Reebok elliptical, it would be smart to look at other brands first. |
