The Proform C830 Interactive Elliptical Trainer: What Else Can It Offer?

The Proform brand is probably tops when it comes to the number of models that have been introduced in the market. With numerous ellipticals bearing the brand’s name being marketed commercially, one might think that there is no need for another. But the company, it seems, has no plan of stopping. Another model bearing the familiar name is the Proform C830 interactive elliptical trainer. Is this model any different from other models offered by the firm? Judging by its features, probably not.

The Proform C830 interactive elliptical trainer is almost a copy of the 820, with just a few tweaks here and there. The model features a Power Incline Ramp, a quite common feature meant to adjust the elliptical stride to cover different muscle groups. It has a Silent Magnetic Resistance for changing the workout intensity. The model has six preprogrammed workouts, a CoolAire fan, a four-window LCD display and an EKG Grip Pulse Sensor. Like most Proform models, it is iFit compatible. The machine weighs 149 lbs and has a weight limit of 250 lbs. 

Now we’re back to the question of how it differs from other Proform models, or for that matter, from other models offered by other brands. Well, it doesn’t. The features are the same ones that can be found in other brands and in other models offered by the same firm. The products under this particular brand, as users and reviewers have warned, suffer from breakdowns and early wear and tear, mainly because of the poor quality of components used in constructing the machines. There is no reason to suppose that the C830 will be any different.

Currently, the model is not widely offered. If a consumer is to search for the model in the Internet, he might not find enough information to even consider the product. It will not be a surprise should the company decide to pull the model out of the market altogether. After all, there are enough models out there with the same features and the same functions.

The Proform C830 interactive elliptical trainer might have an attractive commercial name, but it doesn’t change the fact that the model is just one of the numerous types, with the same features, being offered commercially. It has nothing new to offer and has no distinguishing feature. In this regard, maybe it would be better for the manufacturer to pull out the model from the market and concentrate instead on improving its other existing products.
